1961 - 1972
The growth of the marine & sports sales was seen in this period. A change in focus for the tire division. Retreading was discontinued and more attention was diverted from large fleets, to small fleets and retail business. A new facility at 5520 - 4 St. S.E. was purchased for the marine division.  In 1962, J.M. Harper became one of the founding members of the Western Canada Tires Dealers Association and served as its President in 1962 and 1963.

1972 - 1981
Sales growth continued for both divisions, the ski department was sold, a new facility was constructed for the tire division and Stan and Don purchased Jack Harper's shares. The old facility on 12th Ave. S.W. was sold to TransAlta Utilities.  In 1979 & 1980, Stan Harper served as President of the Western Canada Tire Dealers Association.

1981 - 1990
A slump in the economy in the mid-80s caused a down turn in profits and sales but by 1990 the business was turned around.  In 1990 the assets of Harper's Tire Service (Calgary) Ltd. were sold to 2 new companies; Harper's Marine Ltd. (Don Harper and family) and Harper's Tire (1931) Ltd. (Stan Harper and family).

1990 - 2004
Harper's Tire (1931) Ltd. has experienced very satisfactory sales & growth from sales & fleets, retail & wholesale & increased mechanical services. Harper's Tire (1931) Ltd. is still family owned & operated by the Harper family.  Dan Harper served as President of the Western Canada Tire Dealers Association in 1999 & 2000 & also served as the President of the Tire Dealers of Canada from 2000 - 2004. Dan & Tom are running Harper's Tire now

2004 - 2010
In 2005 we celebrated our 75th Anniversary. We created 6 tire service bays with the most up-to-date equipment. We have 2 alignment hoists and 5 service bays now. We created a separate wholesale office located at 512 Manitou Rd. SE. We are licensed for out of province inspections and commercial vehicle inspections.

2010 - Present
We have now opened our 2^nd location in Douglasdale (318, 11488 – 24^th ST. SE) (located right behind Tim Horton’s in the same parking lot with Tim Horton’s, Enterprise & 7Eleven). We have 8 service bays with a drive on alignment hoist with the most up-to-date equipment. We have 2 mechanics, 2 apprentices and 2 tire technicians.
